The 2025 MasterCraft NXT20 is the smallest model in the NXT series, designed for owners who want premium wakes and waves in a compact, garage-friendly size. Measuring 20 feet in length with a 91-inch beam, it delivers MasterCraft’s build quality and performance in an accessible, easy-to-tow package. The 2025 model continues to use the same hull introduced for 2023, optimized for consistent surf and wakeboard performance across variable ballast settings. It’s powered by Ilmor’s 6.0L MPI engine producing 373 horsepower, paired with the surf-capable 1.57:1 transmission.

Performance and Features

The 2025 NXT20 includes MasterCraft’s SurfStar system, which allows precise adjustment of wave shape and length directly from the touchscreen helm. With a total ballast capacity of 1,770 pounds, the NXT20 can create clean surf waves on both sides, even with smaller crews. The dash features a 7-inch touchscreen display, standard analog backup gauges, and wireless phone charging. Optional features include the Z6 tower with clamping board racks, a convertible rear bench seat, and a factory-installed bimini top with surfboard storage.

Design and Build Quality

MasterCraft continues to hand-build each NXT20 at its Vonore, Tennessee facility using resin-infused fiberglass construction and triple-density foam flooring for durability and comfort. The 2025 model introduces new interior colorways and optional CoolFeel vinyl that stays cooler in direct sun. Storage compartments remain among the largest in its class, and the boat’s deep freeboard provides a dry, confident ride for both beginners and advanced riders. With a 30-gallon fuel tank and a dry weight of approximately 4,100 pounds, the MasterCraft NXT20 is both efficient and easy to trailer behind a half-ton vehicle.
