Air Nautique 226 Boats for Sale
The Air Nautique 226 was Correct Craft’s largest V-drive wake and surf boat of the mid-2000s, offering a combination of luxury, performance, and space that few inboards of its era could match. At 22 feet 6 inches long with a deep hull and wide 100-inch beam, the 226 delivered outstanding interior comfort and a smooth ride even in choppy conditions. Designed for families and crews who wanted premium wake performance without compromising room or quality, the Air Nautique 226 provided a powerful blend of Nautique craftsmanship, dependable PCM inboard power, and thoughtful ergonomics that made it a standout choice among large V-drives of its time.
The Air Nautique 226 debuted in the early 2000s as Correct Craft’s response to growing demand for larger V-drive wake boats. Built on an entirely new 22-foot 6-inch hull, the 226 offered more space and weight capacity than the Super Air Nautique 210, which had defined wake performance for smaller crews. The 226’s deeper hull design and increased freeboard created a stable platform ideal for big lakes and rougher water, while still delivering Nautique’s signature tracking and handling.
From 2003 through 2005, the Air Nautique 226 was available with PCM’s reliable Excalibur 330 5.7L engine as standard power, with the 6.0L ZR6 and later 6.0L LY6 options available for buyers seeking additional torque. Most 226s were equipped with factory ballast tanks and the Flight Control Tower, positioning them as full-featured wakeboard boats from the factory. The boat’s wake profile was well regarded for its long transition and firm lip, ideal for riders who wanted a consistent, rampy wake rather than the steeper shape found on the smaller 210.
In 2005, Correct Craft refined the model with updated interior materials and improved driver ergonomics. By 2007, the boat was rebranded as the Super Air Nautique 226, reflecting its position alongside the company’s top-tier wake models. Throughout production, the 226 maintained a reputation for its premium build quality, comfortable ride, and ability to handle large crews with ease.
The hull design also produced moderate surf potential when properly weighted, making the 226 a capable early surf platform before dedicated surf systems became standard. Its interior configuration offered a full wraparound lounge, deep bow seating, transom walk-through, and significant under-seat storage.
Production of the Air Nautique 226 continued through the late 2000s, after which Correct Craft transitioned to the larger Super Air Nautique 230 as the company’s flagship V-drive. Today, the Air Nautique 226 remains highly regarded among used buyers for its durability, smooth ride, and versatile wake that performs well for both wakeboarding and surfing. Many owners still consider it one of the most comfortable and well-built V-drives Correct Craft ever produced.
