Supra Comp Boats for Sale
The Supra Comp is one of the most respected inboard ski boats from Supra’s early lineup, known for delivering consistent tournament-level performance. Designed for slalom and trick skiing, the Comp earned a strong reputation through the 1980s and 1990s for its precise tracking, clean wakes, and solid build quality. Its direct-drive configuration provided excellent weight balance, creating a soft, symmetrical wake ideal for competitive skiing. The Supra Comp also offered durable construction with quality materials, making it a favorite among owners who value reliable performance and classic styling.
The Supra Comp, originally known as the Supra Competition Ski Boat, was introduced in the early 1980s by Skier’s Choice in Maryville, Tennessee. It was designed specifically for slalom course performance and quickly became one of Supra’s defining models. The Comp featured a direct-drive inboard layout and a low-profile hull that produced small, soft wakes ideal for competitive skiing.
Throughout the 1980s, the Supra Comp was offered in several versions, including the Supra Comp TS6M, which became one of the most recognizable ski boats of the decade. The “TS6M” name referred to its six-meter (approximately 19.5-foot) length and tournament ski focus. Powered by reliable inboard engines, most often PCM or Indmar powerplants in the 240 to 260 horsepower range, the boat was known for strong holeshot performance and excellent handling around buoys.
In the 1990s, Supra refined the Comp’s hull and interior to improve comfort and durability without sacrificing ski performance. Upholstery materials, instrument panels, and gelcoat designs evolved, but the core hull characteristics remained focused on producing world-class ski wakes.
The Supra Comp remained in production through the mid-1990s before Supra shifted its lineup toward more versatile crossover and V-drive boats to meet growing wakeboard demand. Despite that transition, the Comp still holds a loyal following among classic ski boat enthusiasts who appreciate its simplicity, straight tracking, and clean-running wakes. Many restored examples continue to perform reliably decades after their debut, a testament to Supra’s original craftsmanship.
