The Supra Launch 20 SSV is a compact yet capable inboard wake boat that combines versatile performance with quality craftsmanship. Its balanced weight distribution and available factory ballast create strong wakeboard and surf waves while maintaining good handling and ride comfort in choppier water. With its premium upholstery, smart storage, and reliable Indmar power, the Supra Launch 20 SSV continues to be a popular choice among wake enthusiasts looking for a dependable inboard that fits easily on most lifts and trailers.

The Supra Launch 20 SSV was introduced in the mid-2000s as a smaller, more agile version of the larger Supra Launch 21V and 22SSV models. Built by Skier’s Choice in Maryville, Tennessee, the 20 SSV used a 20-foot V-drive hull optimized for wake sports while offering crossover potential for recreational skiing. Early models typically came powered by Indmar Assault V8 engines rated between 325 and 340 horsepower.

The boat’s design carried Supra’s distinctive deep freeboard, giving it a more solid ride than many boats in its size class. The “SSV” designation stood for Supra Sport V-drive, identifying it as part of Supra’s wake-specific lineup. Factory ballast systems were available with approximately 1,000 pounds of total capacity, distributed across the rear lockers and center ski locker, allowing riders to customize wake shape and size.

From 2005 through 2009, small refinements were made to interior layouts, gelcoat patterns, and driver ergonomics. Supra’s “Rad-A-Cage” tower became a standard feature, offering strength and board storage without excessive weight. Later years introduced improved ballast controls and updated upholstery materials for durability and style.

The 20 SSV’s compact footprint, roughly 20 feet 8 inches in overall length with an 8-foot beam, made it easy to tow and store while still producing wakes suitable for intermediate to advanced riders. It shared construction standards with larger Supra models, including composite stringers, hand-laid fiberglass, and high-quality vinyl seating.

By 2010, Supra phased out the Launch-branded lineup in favor of newer models such as the Sunsport 21V and later the SA and SR series, which evolved with more advanced surf systems. The Supra Launch 20 SSV remains respected among wake boat owners for its simplicity, durability, and value on the used market.
