The Malibu Corvette is one of the most unique and collectible inboard boats ever built, blending Malibu’s performance engineering with Chevrolet Corvette design and power. Produced in the late 1990s, the Malibu Corvette was a limited-edition inboard inspired by the iconic sports car, offering unmatched style and speed on the water.

The Malibu Corvette was first introduced in 1997 through a partnership between Malibu Boats and General Motors to celebrate the spirit of the Chevrolet Corvette on the water. The model was produced in limited numbers through the 1998 and 1999 model years, with some variations extending into 2000. Two main versions were available: the base Corvette and the Corvette Limited Edition (often called the “Corvette Indy”).

Measuring approximately 20 feet 10 inches in length with a beam of 96 inches, the Malibu Corvette was built on a performance-oriented direct-drive hull designed for agility and speed. The boat was powered by a Corvette LT1 or LS1 V8 engine built by Mercury Marine, producing between 385 and 405 horsepower depending on the model year. With top speeds approaching 60 mph, it was one of the fastest inboard towboats ever produced at the time.

The exterior styling was unmistakably Corvette-inspired, complete with pop-up headlights, Corvette badging, and automotive lines modeled after the C4 and early C5 Corvette generations. The interior continued the theme with dual bucket seats, a digital dash, and high-end materials, offering the look and feel of a luxury sports car adapted for water use.

Although not designed for wakesurfing or large wakeboarding waves, the Malibu Corvette was primarily built for performance boating and water skiing. Its limited production and unique automotive crossover appeal have made it a highly collectible model today among Malibu enthusiasts and Corvette fans alike.
