Malibu iRide Boats for Sale
The Malibu iRide is a 21-foot wake and ski boat designed to deliver Malibu’s proven performance in an affordable, family-friendly package. Built on Malibu’s legendary Wake Setter heritage, the iRide combines versatile wakes, reliable power, and straightforward features—making it a great choice for riders and families looking to get into wake sports without sacrificing quality.
The Malibu iRide was introduced for the 2005 model year and produced through approximately 2011. It was developed as Malibu’s entry-level crossover boat, giving buyers access to Malibu’s build quality and performance at a more approachable price point. The iRide was based on the same hull design as earlier models such as the Malibu Sunsetter LXI, which was known for its balance between ski and wake capabilities.
Measuring 21 feet in length with a beam of about 93 inches, the iRide was built on Malibu’s Diamond hull (in earlier years) and later Wake hull configurations, depending on the model year and buyer preference. This made it a true crossover performer—capable of creating clean slalom wakes at ski speeds while still generating fun, rampy wakes for wakeboarding when ballast was added.
Power came from Indmar inboard engines, typically the Monsoon 320 or Hammerhead 383, depending on year and option packages. The combination of Malibu’s hull design and Indmar’s proven reliability gave the iRide a smooth, predictable pull and efficient fuel performance.
Inside, the iRide emphasized function and comfort with seating for up to 10 passengers, open storage areas, a functional dash layout, and options such as a wakeboard tower, PerfectPass, and rear ballast tanks. While positioned as Malibu’s value model, it still offered the same construction quality, gelcoat finish, and attention to detail found in higher-end Wakesetter models.
By the time production ended in the early 2010s, the Malibu iRide had built a strong reputation as one of the most affordable ways to experience Malibu’s legendary wakes and craftsmanship. Today, it remains a popular choice on the used market for buyers seeking a dependable crossover boat that performs well for both skiing and wakeboarding.
