The Malibu M235 made its debut for the 2017 model year as the top-tier boat in the Malibu lineup. Developed by Malibu’s elite design and engineering team, the M235 was created as a purpose-built performance flagship—pushing the limits of surf wave size, handling, and onboard technology. Built at 23 feet 5 inches long with a 102-inch beam, the M235 offered a bold, aggressive design that set a new standard for luxury towboats.

Under the engine hatch, the M235 was powered by Malibu’s most powerful inboard options, typically the Indmar Monsoon 575 Supercharged or 550 engine, delivering torque levels previously unseen in production wake boats. Combined with Malibu’s Wake Plus hull, Surf Gate system, and Power Wedge III, the M235 could generate huge, fully customizable surf waves and wakeboard wakes.

The hull was precision-tuned to maintain balance even with extreme ballast loads, often exceeding 5,400 pounds when fully configured. This made the M235 a favorite among professional riders and enthusiasts looking for uncompromising wave performance.

Inside, the M235 set a benchmark for luxury in Malibu’s lineup. The interior featured premium vinyl, billet accents, RGB lighting, and touchscreen command systems controlling nearly every function on board. Seating for up to 17 passengers ensured ample space for large groups, and the design incorporated deep freeboard and aggressive styling for both comfort and presence on the water.

The M235 remained Malibu’s top model until the introduction of the M240 and M220, which carried forward its DNA. It is still considered one of the most advanced and collectible wake boats Malibu has ever produced, known for combining high-end craftsmanship with professional-level performance.
