MasterCraft CSX Boats for Sale

The MasterCraft CSX lineup was introduced in the mid to late 2000s as part of the brand’s effort to expand beyond traditional ski and wakeboard boats. The CSX name stood for “Center Console Crossover,” highlighting its hybrid purpose between a wake sports boat and a coastal utility boat. The first model, the CSX 220, featured a 22-foot hull based on the proven MasterCraft X-Series running surface but adapted with a center console and self-bailing cockpit. It was designed for owners who wanted an inboard that could handle both freshwater and saltwater while still offering the precision tracking and consistent wakes expected from MasterCraft.

The CSX 220 typically came powered by Ilmor or Indmar inboard engines with closed cooling systems available in saltwater editions. Its design emphasized flexibility, with integrated rod holders, optional T-top, and transom seating that could transition easily between cruising and water sports setups. The boat maintained a stable ride in choppy conditions due to its deeper V-hull compared to traditional wakeboard boats of the time.

In 2008 MasterCraft expanded the line with the CSX 265, a 26.5-foot version that offered greater offshore capability and more room for passengers and gear. The CSX 265 featured dual inboard engines, a wider beam, and improved weight distribution for enhanced handling in rougher conditions. Like the 220, it was built with saltwater-ready materials including stainless steel fittings, composite stringers, and heavy-duty upholstery.

Both models were among the few inboards of their era designed with center-console layouts, making them distinctive in a market dominated by V-drive wake boats. Production of the CSX line concluded around 2009 as MasterCraft refocused its lineup on pure wake and surf boats. Despite its short production run, the CSX series has developed a small but loyal following among owners who appreciate its versatility, build quality, and the rare combination of towboat handling with center-console practicality.

Today, the CSX 220 and 265 remain sought-after on the used market, particularly in coastal areas where buyers want an inboard that can serve multiple purposes. Their solid fiberglass construction, reliable drivetrain options, and flexible layouts make them durable choices for families, anglers, and water sports enthusiasts alike.
