MasterCraft X23 Boats for Sale
The MasterCraft X23 is a 23-foot premium surf and wake boat built for riders who demand the best in wave performance, comfort, and style. Designed specifically for wakesurfing and wakeboarding, the X23 combines advanced hull engineering with MasterCraft’s high-end construction and powerful Ilmor inboard power. Known for producing one of the largest and cleanest surf waves in its class, the X23 delivers a smooth ride, a luxurious interior, and the versatility that defines MasterCraft’s X-Series lineup.
The MasterCraft X23 was introduced for the 2014 model year as a surf-optimized, full-featured 23-foot boat. It represented a major advancement in wake and surf technology, featuring a newly designed hull and MasterCraft’s Gen 2 Surf System. At 23 feet in length with a beam of 102 inches, the X23 was engineered to create massive, perfectly shaped surf waves while maintaining a stable, predictable ride across all conditions.
The deep, sculpted hull of the X23 provided exceptional displacement, allowing it to carry more than 3,000 pounds of factory ballast while maintaining balance and smooth handling. When combined with the Gen 2 Surf System, the X23 delivered long, powerful surf waves with strong push and adjustable shape on both sides. Riders could easily customize wave height, length, and steepness using touchscreen controls at the helm. Its wakeboard wakes were equally refined, offering clean, ramp-style transitions with plenty of pop.
Power for the X23 came from Ilmor inboard engines, typically the 6.0L GDI rated at 373 horsepower or the optional 6.2L GDI rated at 430 horsepower. These engines provided exceptional low-end torque and reliable performance even when the boat was fully loaded with passengers and ballast. The V-drive configuration optimized weight distribution and interior space while contributing to the boat’s powerful surf performance.
Inside, the X23 offered one of the most spacious and luxurious layouts in its class. With a deep freeboard and a wide beam, it comfortably seated up to 15 passengers. The interior featured wraparound lounge seating, a large bow area, and convertible rear seating that allowed passengers to face either direction. Storage was plentiful, including under-seat compartments and dedicated spaces for boards and gear. Premium finishes such as custom-stitched upholstery, stainless hardware, and marine-grade flooring showcased MasterCraft’s attention to detail.
The helm station was designed for both functionality and comfort. A centrally mounted touchscreen provided control over speed, ballast, surf profiles, and stereo settings. The ergonomic dash layout, tilt steering, and driver’s bolster seat ensured excellent visibility and control. Most models were equipped with the ZFT tower, clamping board racks, and high-end Klipsch or JL Audio sound systems for a complete premium experience.
On the water, the X23 was praised for its outstanding surf wave performance and versatility. It could produce long, consistent waves suitable for riders of all skill levels and offered a smooth, dry ride even in choppier water. The boat’s size and weight gave it impressive stability without sacrificing agility or responsiveness.
The X23 remained in production through the late 2010s, eventually being succeeded by newer models in the X-Series and XT-Series. Even after production ended, it continues to be one of the most desirable used wake and surf boats on the market. Its combination of size, technology, and performance makes it a standout choice for riders who want a powerful, comfortable, and proven MasterCraft surf platform.
