MasterCraft X35 Boats for Sale
The MasterCraft X35 is a 23-foot luxury wake and surf boat built for riders and families who want maximum space, performance, and comfort. Designed to handle larger crews and choppy conditions, the X35 delivers massive wakes, powerful surf waves, and a refined ride quality. With its deep-V hull, large ballast capacity, and Ilmor inboard power, the X35 stands out as one of the most capable and comfortable boats in MasterCraft’s X-Series lineup.
The MasterCraft X35 was introduced for the 2009 model year as a premium, big-water wake and surf boat. Measuring 23 feet 5 inches in length with a beam of 102 inches, the X35 was engineered for riders who wanted high-level performance with added space and comfort. Its deep-V hull provided excellent stability and a smooth ride even in rougher conditions, while also displacing plenty of water for large, clean wakes and surf waves.
The X35’s hull was specifically tuned for versatility, offering strong performance for both wakeboarding and wakesurfing. It carried a factory ballast capacity of more than 1,200 pounds, which could be expanded with plug-and-play ballast upgrades. When combined with MasterCraft’s Gen 2 Surf System, the X35 produced long, powerful, and adjustable surf waves with clean faces and strong push. Riders could fine-tune wave height, length, and shape directly from the helm touchscreen.
Power for the X35 came from Ilmor inboard engines, including the 5.7L MPI rated at 320 horsepower, the 6.2L GDI rated at 430 horsepower, and the optional 7.4L MPI producing up to 522 horsepower. These engines provided the torque needed to move the boat’s deep hull efficiently while maintaining smooth, consistent pulling power. The V-drive configuration improved balance, opened up interior space, and optimized performance across all riding disciplines.
Inside, the X35 delivered the comfort and luxury expected of a flagship MasterCraft model. It could seat up to 16 passengers with wraparound lounge seating, a deep cockpit, and a wide open bow. The deep freeboard gave passengers a secure and comfortable ride while increasing the boat’s displacement for better surf performance. Storage compartments were integrated under every seat and in the rear lockers, providing room for boards, ropes, and gear.
The helm featured an ergonomic design with touchscreen controls for ballast, surf presets, and speed, along with analog gauges for easy readability. The ZFT tower came standard with board racks, speakers, and optional bimini shade. Premium upholstery, stainless steel hardware, LED interior lighting, and high-end audio options from JL Audio or Klipsch added to the X35’s upscale appeal.
On the water, the X35 was praised for its big, clean wakes and long, powerful surf waves. It handled predictably and remained stable even when fully loaded. Its deep-V hull made it particularly well suited for larger lakes and choppy water, offering a smooth and confident ride. The X35’s size and performance balance made it a favorite among families and advanced riders alike.
Production of the X35 continued through 2013, after which it was replaced by newer models in the X and XT Series that carried forward its large-hull surf design. Today, the X35 remains one of the most sought-after used wake and surf boats in its class, valued for its durability, comfort, and proven big-water capability.
