Sport Nautique Boats for Sale
The Sport Nautique is one of the most versatile and best known models ever built by Correct Craft. Designed as a larger direct drive inboard that could handle skiing, wakeboarding, and family recreation, the Sport Nautique offered the same precision handling and construction quality that made the Nautique name famous. With a spacious interior, dependable PCM inboard power, and balanced performance for multiple water sports, it became a favorite choice for families who wanted true Nautique performance in a practical all around boat.
The Sport Nautique was first introduced in 1989 and quickly established itself as the most versatile boat in the Nautique lineup. Built on a 21 foot direct drive hull, it offered a blend of space, comfort, and performance that appealed to a wide range of water sports enthusiasts. While the Ski Nautique models were designed specifically for competitive slalom skiing, the Sport Nautique was built to handle a variety of activities without sacrificing quality or ride comfort.
Early models from 1989 through the mid 1990s were powered by PCM 5.8 liter Ford based engines, most commonly the 351 GT40 multiport fuel injected V8 rated around 310 horsepower. The hull was designed with slightly more depth and beam than the Ski Nautique, producing soft wakes for skiing at higher speeds and larger, ramp shaped wakes for wakeboarding at slower speeds. This made it one of the first true crossover boats in the Nautique lineup and an ideal platform for family use.
In 1997 Correct Craft refined the hull and interior, updating styling and improving wake consistency. The Sport Nautique continued to serve as the base for the Air Nautique, which added factory ballast, tower options, and wakeboard focused equipment. Both models shared the same hull and driveline, with the Air Nautique marketed as a wake edition of the Sport Nautique.
The early 2000s brought further upgrades to fit and finish, including improved upholstery, updated helm layouts, and refinements to gelcoat design. Throughout its production, the Sport Nautique maintained its reputation for strong tracking, reliable power, and a smooth ride in rougher water. Its 21 foot length and open bow configuration made it one of the most family friendly direct drive boats of its era.
The Sport Nautique remained in production into the mid 2000s before the introduction of the redesigned Sport 200. Despite that transition, the original Sport Nautique continues to be a highly sought after used model because of its proven durability, simple mechanics, and true multi sport ability. Many owners still use these boats for both skiing and wakeboarding thanks to their adaptable wake shape and legendary Correct Craft construction.
Today, the Sport Nautique is remembered as one of the most balanced and reliable inboards ever produced. It represents the point where Nautique began to expand from pure tournament ski boats to versatile family models that could satisfy both serious skiers and casual riders with equal confidence.
