Super Air Nautique 220 Boats for Sale
The Super Air Nautique 220 was introduced as a premium V drive designed to deliver strong wake performance along with the space and comfort needed for larger crews. Positioned between the legendary 210 and the flagship 230, the 220 provided a perfect balance of size, handling, and versatility. Known for its solid construction, deep hull, and proven PCM inboard power, the Super Air Nautique 220 became a favorite among wakeboarders and wakesurfers who wanted professional level wakes without moving to a full size twenty three foot model.
The Super Air Nautique 220 joined the Nautique lineup for the 2006 model year as part of a complete expansion of Correct Craft’s V drive offerings. Measuring 21 feet 8 inches in length with a 98 inch beam, it was designed to offer a different ride and wake experience from the sharper, steeper wake of the 210. The 220 featured a deeper hull, a more gradual transom angle, and increased freeboard which gave it a smoother ride and a more ramp like wake shape that appealed to a wide range of riders.
At its introduction, the Super Air Nautique 220 came standard with a factory ballast system totaling around 900 pounds along with the Flight Control Tower and PCM multiport fuel injected power. Engine options included the PCM Excalibur 343 5.7 liter, the PCM ZR6 6.0 liter rated at 375 horsepower, and later the ZR 409 6.0 liter and ZR 450 6.2 liter engines. These powerplants provided the torque necessary to handle additional ballast and riders without sacrificing acceleration or consistency.
Interior design was one of the 220’s strengths. The wraparound lounge seating, deep interior, and generous storage under the seats made it one of the most comfortable boats in its size category. The transom walk through, large sun pad, and quality finishes reflected Nautique’s focus on both function and durability. Seating capacity was typically rated for up to thirteen passengers, which gave it family appeal in addition to its wakeboarding focus.
Wake performance was a major reason for the 220’s popularity. Riders appreciated its long, rampy shape with a solid lip and clean transitions, especially when additional ballast was added. The wake had a wide sweet spot that suited both advanced and intermediate riders, and the hull design also allowed for respectable surf performance when properly weighted. Compared to the Super Air Nautique 210, the 220 delivered a smoother, more progressive wake with slightly less vertical pop, making it a strong crossover for riders who preferred a forgiving takeoff and softer landings.
From 2008 through 2012, Nautique continued to refine the 220 with small interior updates, new color options, and improvements to ballast and digital instrumentation. While the 210 and 230 eventually became the core of the wake lineup, the 220 held its place as a highly capable mid size model with a loyal following.
Today, the Super Air Nautique 220 remains one of the best values in the used wake boat market. Its combination of proven PCM reliability, comfortable layout, and excellent wake characteristics make it a dependable and enjoyable choice for families and serious riders alike. Many owners continue to regard it as one of the most balanced boats Nautique ever built for wakeboarding and wakesurfing.
