The Nautique Super Sport is one of the most influential boats ever produced by Correct Craft. Introduced in the early 1990s, it was the company’s first true V drive model and the direct foundation for the later Super Air Nautique 210. With its rear engine placement, spacious interior, and naturally large wakes, the Super Sport changed the direction of inboard design and helped launch the modern era of wakeboarding. Built with the same precision and quality found across all Nautique models, it remains a favorite among riders and families who appreciate a classic hull with proven performance and timeless style.

The Nautique Super Sport was first introduced around 1995 as a 21 foot V drive inboard based on the successful Sport Nautique hull. By moving the engine to the rear, Correct Craft created a deeper, more balanced running attitude that produced larger wakes and allowed for a more open cockpit. The result was a boat that appealed both to water sports families and to the growing number of riders discovering wakeboarding in the mid 1990s.

The Super Sport measured approximately 21 feet in length with a beam of 91 inches and featured a deep interior with wraparound lounge seating. This was one of the first Nautiques that could comfortably carry ten or more passengers, and it quickly became known for its blend of space, power, and ride comfort. The hull produced a clean and ramp shaped wake at boarding speeds, while maintaining respectable performance for recreational skiing at higher speeds.

Most Super Sports were powered by PCM’s 5.8 liter multiport fuel injected GT40 engine producing around 310 horsepower. This engine provided strong low end torque and reliability, making it ideal for towing multiple riders or handling additional ballast. Earlier carbureted versions were also available in the first production years before the GT40 became standard equipment.

Although the Super Sport was not initially marketed as a wakeboard specific model, its natural wake characteristics quickly caught the attention of riders and boat dealers. Owners began adding towers, ballast, and other equipment, which led Correct Craft to introduce the Super Air Nautique 210 in 1999. The Super Air was built on the same hull as the Super Sport but featured factory ballast tanks, tower, and wake focused branding.

The Super Sport continued to be offered as a family version of the 210 into the early 2000s, appealing to buyers who preferred the traditional interior layout but wanted the same hull performance. The deep freeboard, high quality materials, and solid construction made it one of the most durable and comfortable V drives in its class.

Today, the Nautique Super Sport holds an important place in inboard history as the boat that directly led to the rise of the Super Air Nautique line. Many older Super Sports are still on the water and remain sought after by enthusiasts who appreciate their balance of size, handling, and authentic wake performance. When properly weighted, they produce a wake that rivals many modern wake boats, while offering the unmistakable quality and feel of a classic Correct Craft design.
