The Supra Sunsport 22V is a well-balanced V-drive inboard that combines comfort, space, and strong wake performance in a midsize package. Known for its smooth ride, deep interior, and premium build quality, the 22V delivers excellent versatility for wakeboarding, wakesurfing, and family recreation. With reliable Indmar power and Supra’s proven hull design, the Sunsport 22V remains a popular choice for those who want a spacious, high-quality inboard with true multi-sport capability.

The Supra Sunsport 22V was introduced in the mid-2000s by Skier’s Choice in Maryville, Tennessee, as part of Supra’s V-drive series that blended wakeboard performance with family comfort. Built on the same general hull platform as the Launch 22 SSV, the Sunsport 22V focused more on versatility and interior amenities while maintaining the performance needed for wake sports.

At approximately 22 feet in length with an 8-foot 4-inch beam, the Sunsport 22V offered a roomy interior, deep freeboard, and seating for up to fourteen passengers. Its V-drive configuration placed the engine at the rear, opening up space and improving weight distribution for creating balanced wakes. Early models were powered by Indmar Assault and Indmar 340 engines rated between 325 and 340 horsepower, with optional 409 horsepower upgrades available in later years.

The Sunsport 22V’s deep hull provided a smooth, stable ride and produced well-shaped wakes that appealed to both wakeboarders and surfers. Factory ballast systems offered around 1,200 pounds of capacity, and Supra’s SmartPlate system allowed drivers to adjust wake shape and running attitude easily. These features gave the 22V the flexibility to cater to different riding styles and water conditions.

Inside, the Supra Sunsport 22V featured high-quality materials, plush vinyl seating, and practical storage solutions. The wraparound lounge and open bow design made it comfortable for long days on the water, while standard equipment such as the Rad-A-Cage tower and full instrumentation added convenience and style. From 2005 through 2009, Supra refined interior details, graphics, and ballast controls while keeping the same proven hull design.

The 22V represented a key step in Supra’s evolution toward modern surf-ready boats, bridging the gap between the early Launch series and later models like the SA and SE. Today, the Supra Sunsport 22V remains one of the most desirable used boats in the lineup, known for its build quality, performance, and all-around versatility.
