Tige Pre 2100 Boats for Sale
The Tige Pre 2100 is one of the boats that helped establish Tige’s reputation for building high quality, versatile inboards. Produced in the mid 1990s, it was among the company’s first models to combine family comfort with serious water sport performance. With its direct drive layout, ConvexV hull design, and the introduction of the TAPS system, the Pre 2100 delivered adjustable wakes that suited both slalom skiers and the early generation of wakeboarders.
The Tige Pre 2100 was introduced in the mid 1990s as one of the first models in the company’s growing inboard lineup. The “Pre” designation stood for Precision Refinement Engineering, a naming convention Tige used before switching to its numerical naming system in the late 1990s. The Pre 2100 marked a turning point for Tige, showcasing the company’s early innovation and commitment to quality.
Built on the ConvexV hull, the Pre 2100 offered smoother handling and more consistent wake formation than many traditional flat bottom ski boats of the time. When paired with the TAPS system, the driver could adjust the boat’s running attitude to fine tune wake size and shape. This made the Pre 2100 one of the earliest inboards capable of serving both ski and wakeboard riders effectively, long before wake-specific hulls became the industry standard.
The Pre 2100 measured about 21 feet in length and was typically configured as a direct drive, giving it excellent balance and tracking for skiing. The boat’s interior featured an open bow, comfortable seating for up to ten passengers, and well placed storage compartments. Tige’s early build quality was evident in its hand-laid fiberglass construction and composite stringer system, which contributed to long term durability and resistance to rot.
Most Pre 2100 models were powered by inboard engines from PCM or Indmar, producing between 275 and 320 horsepower depending on configuration. These engines provided smooth, reliable power for both recreational use and towing riders. The boat’s weight and hull shape allowed it to plane quickly and maintain stability, even with multiple passengers or added ballast for wakeboarding.
The Pre 2100 remained in production through the late 1990s, with small refinements to graphics, interiors, and hardware each year. It eventually evolved into the Tige 2100 series as the company moved to a more modern naming convention. Even decades later, the Pre 2100 is still appreciated for its versatility, solid construction, and role in shaping Tige’s early success in the towboat industry.
