The Tige R21 is a 21 foot V drive inboard boat built to deliver proven surf and wake performance in a practical, family friendly size. Introduced in the mid 2010s, it expanded on the success of the R20 by offering more space, added ballast capacity, and updated technology while keeping the same dependable handling and quality construction that Tige is known for. The R21 is a true crossover boat that blends performance, comfort, and value in one efficient design.
The Tige R21 was introduced for the 2015 model year as the next step up from the R20 in the company’s R Series lineup. It was designed for boaters who wanted a slightly larger footprint and more wake potential while maintaining a manageable size and easy towing weight. Built on the ConvexV hull, the R21 provided the same surf and wake tuning versatility found in larger Tige models through its TAPS 2 and later TAPS 3 systems.
At 21 feet in length, the R21 delivered a strong balance between performance and practicality. The ConvexV hull allowed the boat to settle naturally into the water at riding speeds, producing long surf waves with solid push and smooth transitions. The TAPS system let the driver fine tune wake size and shape, making it easy to adjust for wakeboarding, surfing, or recreational skiing. This adaptability made the R21 popular among families who enjoyed multiple types of water sports.
The R21 was equipped with integrated ballast tanks that provided more than 1,600 pounds of ballast, allowing riders to enhance wave performance without extensive setup. The layout featured wraparound seating, a deep cockpit for safety, and an open bow for additional space. With seating for up to fourteen passengers, the R21 offered an impressive amount of room for its size class.
Power for the R21 came from Indmar Raptor series engines, including the Raptor 343 and later the Raptor 400.
