Tige R22 Boats for Sale
The Tige R22 is a 22 foot V drive inboard boat designed to offer exceptional wake and surf performance in a spacious, family friendly package. Introduced in the mid 2010s, it combined Tige’s proven ConvexV hull with the TAPS system to deliver fully adjustable wakes and surf waves. With comfortable seating for large crews, solid construction, and the power of Indmar Raptor series engines, the R22 delivers a refined blend of performance, reliability, and versatility.
The Tige R22 was introduced around the 2016 model year as part of Tige’s R Series, expanding on the R21 platform with additional length, storage, and ballast capacity. Built to meet the needs of riders and families who wanted more space and wake performance without moving into a full luxury class, the R22 struck a perfect balance between practicality and power.
At 22 feet in length, the R22 was designed around Tige’s ConvexV hull, which allowed the boat to ride efficiently and create smooth, powerful wakes. The TAPS 2 system, and later the TAPS 3 upgrade, gave drivers complete control over wake shape and surf wave size. This system adjusted the running attitude of the boat with a single control, making it easy to fine tune the wake for surfing, wakeboarding, or skiing without complicated ballast changes.
The R22 featured built-in ballast tanks providing more than 2,400 pounds of capacity, which could be adjusted automatically through the touch screen control system. When combined with Tige’s hull design, this allowed the boat to produce long surf waves with excellent push and height, along with clean, consistent wakeboard wakes.
Inside, the R22 offered a deep, open interior with wraparound lounge seating, an open bow, and a rear sun pad. The seating arrangement maximized comfort and social space while still allowing room for storage and movement throughout the cockpit. The helm featured Tige’s ClearView touchscreen display, giving the driver easy access to ballast, speed, and surf settings. With high quality upholstery and refined finishes, the R22 provided the same craftsmanship and feel as Tige’s larger models.
Powering the R22 were Indmar Raptor series engines, most commonly the Raptor 400, which delivered strong torque and dependable performance even with full ballast and heavy loads. This engine pairing provided the low-end pull needed for surfing and wakeboarding while maintaining fuel efficiency for recreational cruising.
The R22 remained in production for several years and became one of the best selling models in the R Series. It was praised for its ease of use, solid build quality, and the value it offered relative to its size and capabilities. Even after newer designs entered the lineup, the R22 continued to stand out as one of Tige’s most well-rounded boats, offering the performance of a larger model in a size that remained easy to tow, store, and enjoy.
