Kirby Liesmann is the founder of Kirby’s School of Wake and has spent years on the water riding, driving, and coaching behind a wide range of wake boats. Through that experience, he has developed a deep understanding of how different boats perform not just at a high level, but in real-world situations where consistency, ease of use, and progression matter most.
Working daily with riders of all ages and skill levels has given Kirby a unique perspective on what makes a boat truly functional—from drivability and layout to wake and wave performance. He is especially passionate about creating the best possible experience for riders, focusing on what makes a wake or surf wave both high-performing and user-friendly.
His goal with each review is to provide honest, experience-based feedback that helps others better understand how a boat will perform for their specific needs, whether that’s learning for the first time or pushing into more advanced riding.
