MasterCraft X30 Boats for Sale
The MasterCraft X30 is a 23-foot luxury wake and surf boat designed to deliver premium performance, spacious comfort, and all-around versatility. Known for its deep hull, large surf wave, and refined ride quality, the X30 combines professional-level capability with family-friendly design. Built with MasterCraft’s signature craftsmanship and powered by Ilmor inboard engines, the X30 offers the perfect blend of size, comfort, and wake performance for serious riders and recreational boaters alike.
The MasterCraft X30 was introduced in the early 2010s as part of the company’s X-Series, positioned between the smaller X25 and the larger X35. Measuring 23 feet 4 inches in length with a beam of 102 inches, the X30 was designed to provide a stable, smooth ride while delivering large, clean wakes and surf waves. Its deep hull offered excellent displacement for wave generation and a secure, comfortable ride in all water conditions.
The X30’s hull was one of the most refined designs in MasterCraft’s surf era, providing both balance and versatility. At wakeboarding speeds, it produced a well-defined, ramp-style wake with consistent transitions and strong lift. When configured for surfing with the Gen 2 Surf System, the X30 created long, powerful waves with adjustable shape and push on either side. Its surf performance ranked among the best in its class during its production years.
The X30 carried a large factory ballast system with more than 1,000 pounds of standard capacity, along with optional plug-and-play upgrades for additional weight. The integrated Gen 2 Surf System, introduced during its production run, used tabs and software-based control to customize wave height, length, and steepness directly from the helm touchscreen. This made the X30 equally capable for wakeboarding, surfing, and recreational cruising.
Power for the X30 came from Ilmor inboard engines, typically the 5.7L MPI rated at 320 horsepower or the optional 6.0L GDI producing 373 horsepower. These engines provided smooth acceleration, dependable torque, and strong midrange performance even when the boat was fully loaded with passengers and ballast. The Ilmor driveline and V-drive configuration contributed to the X30’s durability, balance, and efficiency.
Inside, the X30 was one of the most comfortable boats in the MasterCraft lineup during its era. It featured wraparound lounge seating, a wide open bow, and a deep cockpit with space for up to 16 passengers. Storage was abundant, including under-seat compartments, rear lockers, and dedicated areas for boards and gear. The transom design included a rear-facing seat and walkthrough to the swim platform, making it easy for riders to gear up or relax between sets.
The helm offered a premium experience with a clean layout, tilt steering, and a digital touchscreen that controlled ballast, surf presets, and speed. The standard ZFT tower provided board storage and tow points, while premium options such as Klipsch or JL Audio sound systems, LED lighting, and custom color packages gave the X30 a luxury finish.
On the water, the X30 was praised for its ride quality and performance. It handled rougher water better than smaller models thanks to its deeper hull and higher freeboard. At the same time, it remained nimble enough for docking and trailering. The X30’s combination of smooth ride, consistent wakes, and spacious comfort made it one of the most popular 23-foot models in MasterCraft’s modern history.
Production of the X30 continued through 2016, when it was replaced by the MasterCraft XT23. The X30 remains one of the most respected used boats in the surf and wake community, offering premium performance, timeless styling, and the versatility that defined MasterCraft’s X-Series design philosophy.
