The Supra Launch 21V was introduced in the mid-2000s as part of Supra’s growing lineup of V-drive wakeboard boats produced by Skier’s Choice in Maryville, Tennessee. Built on a 21-foot hull with an approximate 8-foot 4-inch beam, the 21V was engineered to deliver strong wakes for wakeboarding while maintaining predictable handling and a smooth ride in rougher water.
Early models were powered by Indmar Assault and Indmar 340 engines, offering between 325 and 340 horsepower. The V-drive configuration moved the engine to the rear of the boat, which not only opened up interior space but also allowed for a deeper, more surfable wake. The 21V’s factory ballast system provided about 1,200 pounds of capacity distributed between the rear lockers and center tank, enabling riders to fine-tune wake size and shape.
The Supra Launch 21V included the brand’s signature “Rad-A-Cage” tower, precision gelcoat finishes, and a deep freeboard that gave it a stable feel and more passenger comfort than many other boats in its class. From 2005 through 2009, interior upgrades improved seating comfort, storage, and driver ergonomics. Supra also offered features like PerfectPass speed control and optional heaters, enhancing its versatility for all-season use.
By 2010, the Launch name transitioned toward the Supra Sunsport and later SA and SR series as Supra’s surf technology evolved, but the 21V remains one of the most balanced wake boats ever built. Its wake characteristics make it suitable for intermediate to advanced riders while still being manageable for families who want a multi-sport boat.
